First time seeing this waterfall - Awesome!

We've been spending as much time outside as possible lately. In between rainstorms we hike everywhere we can. Our curly hairdos and muddy clothes just come with the territory.

May is soooo wonderful!

Last month the tree in our back yard looked like this:
Before
Now it looks like this:
After
It's magnificent. We've spent more time under it on the grass and in the swing not to mention the climbing the kids are attempting. Bishop Hanks came over and helped us get it ship-shape! Thanks!

With all the fun we've been having I realize how much I love May! It is so packed with outside activities that I just can't seem to get enough of. It is truly bliss. Some of our adventures have included:
RAKE
Swinging and Raking
Goats
Feeding the Kids
Dyed in a Tree
and Climbing Trees (and there is that tye dye we did.)
Flowers
This last week I also went with my friend JoBeth (the girl in blue) to
Columbia SC
this house and then at the end of the week while the boys were at Father's and Son's Campout we included Goldie by camping out, hiking, and canoeing. I also had my first ride in a kayak.
In a Tree
I guess that's why I like May so much. There are several days left to go. I hope you are enjoying them as much as our family.

Goldie 5th Birthday Parties

I'm so grateful to have celebrated Goldie Emma's fifth birthday. For her birthday she requested a party dress and a crown. I was happy to oblige.

During the week we went over to Mom-Maw's and celebrated with the cousins.

We had a Dairy Queen cake there as I was in full swing of sewing presents.

On Friday, her big day, I took a page out Charith's book (big time). I let the kids decorate their own cakes:
Goldie's Cake
Josiah's Cake
Stuart's Cake
Stuart just ate his.
And now for the birthday cake:
Girl and Her Cake
Goldie kept going back and forth between Mermaid and Unicorn. She couldn't decide. So I went with both.  I made a waterfall with a unicorn looking down at the Mermaid who has already splashed down.

My favorite part though, is the Mermaid Splashing.
