A Child's Prayer

Goldie decided she wanted to sing in the Mercer School talent show. Originally she want to sing Country Roads, but I was horrible so we settled on Don Gato.
But then her choir teacher said that she would like us to sing something different. So we settled again and finally on "A Child's Prayer. I was a bit worried about it, but it turned out well. We did a good job together. Thanks for inviting me to sing with you girl, it was fun.

5.27.16 A Day trip to Buena Vista

We made a day trip to Buena Vista. I showed my husband and children the library I will be spending a lot of time in shortly.
We stopped at Gander Mountain and tried out the camping equipment
I also dropped my Credit Card. Eventually, Angie went back and got it for us. Thank Goodness someone turned it in.
As we left there was a beautiful sunset. I took out the cars.
And then I put them back:)

What do you do when you visit the graveyard?

Here's what we do when we visit the Richardsons at the graveyard:
 We take selfies
 We eat our daughters
 We act like boys
and generally have a good time. What do you do when you go to the graveyard?

Odds and Ends

My ending child: At Mercer School
An odd bookmark: This was a prototype for my school. I had help at school where the students and I  made over two hundred bookmarks for the incoming sixth graders.
An odd sheet of paper that my friend Rocio gave me a recipe on right before we moved to Princeton. It has hung on my cabinet door for the entire time we've lived in Princeton. I'll have to find a place for it in the new house.

Trip to Buena Vista...We are moving

We have decided to move to Buena Vista, VA. In preparation for this, we rented a Uhaul.
Filled to maximum capacity and headed that way. Mike had rented a storage unit. We put our stuff into it and then had a couple of pictures before dropping the van off in Lexington.
Then we headed to Angie and Marshall's house to spend the night. The boys chased the chickens.
 And then they petted them.
Next morning before we headed out, I took selfies of this cute boy and his shirt, because its one of my favorite.
Ammon the photo bomber and previous owner of the frog shirt.
The boy who wanted in the pic, but didn't want to smile
I love my boys!

Goldie and I picked up the mail and I said, "Why is Bluefield College sending you mail?" She got a confused look on her face until she started to open it.
It was a copy of the Bluestone Review. She was published in it.
She wrote a story called the Drowning Detectives and won first place at her school and second place in the County Competition
Here is a copy of her story. Way to go Goldie! Good Job. Keep writing!

Happy Birthday Goldie

We celebrated the delightful Goldie's Birthday on May 1, 2016
We had the usual photo shoot for our newly turned 11 year old beauty.
With the cake she had designed and we made together.
We spent hours working on this cake and it turned out awesome.
I do love you Goldie! Don't forget that. Ever.
Details on the cake were so fun.
Hoping this rice crispy lamp will bring forth a genie.
