Come with me on my walk behind Grandpa and Grandma's house on the day after Thanksgiving.

Behind their house is this little forest. It never seems that we wander there, so the last few minutes before we left last week we took the trek. There are two tobacco drying barns that we were on a mission to explore.
Those are beams reaching across the barn that the tobacco used to be hung on to dry.

Our tour guide told us all about how it was done - since his father was a tobacco farmer and he was part of the process for the first eleven years of his life.
In the first barn there was just old logs and such.

But it was enough to get this kid fairly dirty.

As we exited the first barn, this shot was taken. Can you see the grandparents house through the trees? The second barn was full of junk that had been "stored" for a long time so we didn't go into it.

But you can see that it is very near this graveyard. Marcia said that she didn't know how close it was until that day we walked over. That is how much the tree and bush greenery covers everything in the summer time.
Thanks for walking with me today!

Cool! It's fun to see what it looks like where they're living. Glad you got to spend Thanksgiving with them.
What a fun backyard!
